For the 5th year running..
we will be holding our Picnic in the Park event on
Sunday 20th July from 12-4pm
This years event looks like being the best ever..
We have the regular firm favourites like the dog show, arts and crafts, storytelling,
sports, dance and music sessions for the children, together with lucky dip and face painting for the children. Adults can either stretch and relax with the yoga and Tai Chi sessions or engage with ‘Speakers Corner’, which is being hosted by Toastmasters and sounds excellent. We will have a bouncy castle for the first time this year too.
As you will all know, we keep this event free so that it will be accessible for all the families and residents around the park. We want to provide a fun and fabulous day as well as generating community feeling and encouraging people to use this wonderful park and resource which is on their doorstep. To cover our costs we run a tea and cake stall on a donation basis.
WHAT WILL HELP US:
We need cakes for the cake stall please..all home baked or shop bought cakes are gratefully accepted. If you bake, please can you include a note with ingredients to inform those with allergies. You can bring your cake along on the day or drop off beforehand with either Louise (07817 202516) or you Friends of Grangewood Park Contact.
We need volunteers on the day..we need help with the setup from 10am-12pm on the day, help manning the tea and cake and membership stalls for periods during the day, stewarding etc. I have attached the volunteer form (deals with cakes too). Please have a look, see what you might be able to manage and get it back to us as soon as you can so we can start to plan for the day.
We very much look forward to seeing you at the park on the 20th. Please tell your friends and family and keep your fingers crossed for a lovely sunny day 🙂
